Here we are really talking about two templates:
1. Aimed at students
2. Aimed at educators
The template is then easily transferable into WIMBA which then generates a html document which can be published in a platform (say Moodle) or on a homepage. The following two documents are examples:
1. Aimed at teachers - A mini introductory course to master the basic skills of SL: http://dooku.miun.se/mats.deutschmann/Avalon/getting%20started%201/index.htm
2. Aimed at Students: the instructions for the debating course: http://dooku.miun.se/mats.deutschmann/Avalon/Debating%20in%20SL/index.htm
The basic structure is based on the following headings:
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Student Template
Part 1: Introduction (introductory overview of the course- very short)
Objectives: Here the overall objectives of the course are listed
What you need to know: Here include the essentials such SLUrls, timetables, any other essential info
Resources: Any extras that students need for a course such as instruction material to get started, blog-link (if you have a blog associated with the course etc etc)
Part 2: Main Content (This is where the detailed descriptions go- start with a brief introductory overview- this course consist of 5 parts .... etc etc)
Task 1: here give very specific descriptions of the particular task/meeting. Include all essential details so that the students have an exact clear idea of what is expected of them etc
Task 2: see above
Task 3: see above
etc
Part 3: Completion: (summary of what has been done, grading schemes, include any diagnostic self-tests etc you might find relevant, self reflections, course evaluation etc)
Summary
Selftests
Grading scheme (if relevant)
Further Material: (material which can lead the student forward to more automous learning)

TeacherTemplate
Basically the same as the above with the exception that it also contains more reflections/observations from our courses.
Part 1: Introduction (introductory overview of the course- very short)
Objectives: Here the overall objectives of the course are listed; motivate them using the framework provided in deliverables 1 and 2 (Communication and language learning models; Guidelines for educators; )
What you need to know: Here include the essentials such SLUrls, timetables, any other essential info: Again bear the teacher in mind.
Include all essential details so that the teachers have an exact clear idea of what potential problems etc
Reflections Task 1: Perhaps here we can include experiences from our test runs.
Task 2: see above
Reflections Task 2
Task 3: see above
Reflections Task 3
etc
Part 3: Completion: (summary of what has been done, trying to relate the course to more generic models, suggestions for variation)
Summary
Overall reflections related to basic principles (deliverables 1+2)
Suggestions on how the course can be adapted to different circumstances

Here is the Wimba template. Once we are happy with a course we can enter it into this tool and a htlm document can be created: Wimba template

mm., just wondering whether it makes sense managementwise to have two templates. i guess we'll start with the teacher template and then make changes for students if we feel that this is required of our workpackage. Just thinking that this could be left up to the individual institutions who adopt the course models as the information you need to provide students with with vary from context to context. I think there need to be a limit to how much time and the workload we need to be taking on.

Good thinking batman- perhaps that can be stated in the course descriptions. To the extent that we have student material we can make it available though as it gives insight into how we have been working
